Imagine, explore and share – turn your ideas into positive community impact

Are you a community-minded citizen or SME? Full of ideas? Keen on solving challenges? We’ve got just the opportunity to bring your thoughts to life and positively impact our planet in the process.

As part of our North Yorkshire Cyber Security Network, we’re delivering hands-on support throughout March with a series of moments for people to engage with.

Plexal is collaborating with Scarborough Borough Council, CU Scarborough, Anglo American, seaweed farming company SeaGrown and rural broadband provider Save9 to provide citizens and SMEs across North Yorkshire a better understanding of how to stay cyber secure and improve resilience against threats that are omnipresent through daily device use for work and pleasure.

Why seaweed? It’s a highly effective form of carbon capture and with only the sun and the sea needed to grow each crop, SeaGrown has designed an ethical way to absorb huge amounts of carbon and release oxygen into the water as the seaweed grows, creating new ways to protect the environment for the people of Scarborough and beyond.

Focused on a secure Internet of Things challenge, we want your input to help design a technology solution for SeaGrown that can collect, communicate and secure data from camera buoys, so that this innovative UK company and the wider maritime industry can continue to develop.

See below for the full rundown of how you can get involved:
