A few short weeks ago it felt like Christmas had come early as we revealed Plexal’s CEO Andrew Roughan was nominated for techUK’s inaugural President’s Award in the Economy category.
techUK is the trade association which brings together people, companies and organisations to realise the positive outcomes of what digital technology can achieve. They create a network for innovation and collaboration across business, government and stakeholders to provide a better future for people, society, the economy and the planet.
Yesterday evening on Wednesday 5th July, the big night rolled around as the techUK President’s Award dinner took place in London, where we got to find out who the highly anticipated winners were for each category.
So we were absolutely over the moon to hear Andrew’s name called to be crowned the Economy Award winner! Our team behind him are so proud of everything Andrew has achieved, which he believes is a reflection on our collective work here at Plexal.

A few words from the judges about Andrew:

On the achievements of all the nominees, Sheila added: “We are thrilled to celebrate the achievements of these exceptional people and the organisations who support them. We had an incredibly high calibre of nominations from across our membership. I know I speak for all of the Judging Panel when I say that we are enormously impressed and inspired by the level of innovation, problem solving and collaboration from within our tech sector, all going above and beyond to truly make tech a force for good for people, society, the economy and our planet.”
Andrew addressed the Plexal team following the win, stating: “I am incredibly proud. The reason I am proud is because it is a huge endorsement of our collective mission, where we are going, how we go about it and what it means for our customers and those who we help. This is a team award and it would be nothing without all of you.”
A massive congratulations to all the President’s Award winners and shortlisters, making the world a better place through technological innovation.
