Knowledge Bites

January 31, 2024 | 13:00 - 13:45

As 2024 commences, we’re introducing our new series, Knowledge Bites: a series of roundtables run by members for members.

Knowledge bites will be hosted on the last Wednesday of every month. We’ll dive into a range of topics that are applicable to all businesses, from startups and scaleups to corporations and researchers. These topics will differ each month and are designed to help you along your journey – whatever stage you’re at – providing the fundamentals you may require some guidance on. This could be, but not limited to:

  • Marketing: Branding, advertising, campaigns, digital marketing, social media, market research, positioning, etc.
  • Finance/Accounting: Budgeting, cash flow, invoicing, payroll, taxes, reporting, audits, etc.
  • Sales: Lead generation, sales process, pipeline management, account management, negotiations, closing, etc.
  • Human Resources: Recruiting, training, benefits, retention, culture building, etc.
  • Operations: Facilities, supply chain, logistics, inventory, manufacturing, distribution, customer service, etc.
  • Product Development: Research, design, engineering, testing, launches, improvements, etc.
  • Legal: Contracts, compliance, intellectual property, liability, regulations, governance, etc.
  • Information Technology (IT): Systems, networks, infrastructure, data management, cybersecurity, support, etc.
  • Leadership Management: Strategy, planning, goal-setting, decision-making, problem-solving, team building, etc.
  • Administrative: Office management, scheduling, documentation, policies, record-keeping, etc.

For our first session, we’ll be joined by Stratford members’ Gains Accountants as they talk you through compliance for limited companies.

This session aims to comprehensively understand the essential compliance requirements, challenges, and best practices for start-ups and SME businesses in the UK. They will cover the key areas of compliance focused on finance and taxes, related deadlines and how to make the entire process less daunting. The three key areas they will dive into are:

  1. Business registration
  2. Accounting and taxation
  3. Other areas of compliance (a very brief overview)

We’ll see you there! If you’d like to present your expertise at one of our knowledge bites, please contact the community team.
