Future debate: should you share your DNA data?

Imagine: the year 2030…

A national database is growing, with fully-sequenced genomes available to health professionals all over the country. Healthcare tailored to your genome is available: exercise plans, diet plans, mental health intervention– all forms of treatment made more effective with the knowledge of who you are.

What are the potential rewards of such a scenario? And what are the responsibilities should exist to ensure people’s most personal information is safeguarded?

Come join the British Science Association London Branch, for a debate the impact of sharing DNA data. The event will cover questions around health and social care, insurance, employment and data security.
