Combating racism in the workplace: panel discussion
When it comes to racism, discrimination, bias and microaggression in a workspace setting, what is the employer’s responsibility?
What can you as an individual do to challenge your own biases?
What should you do if you witness racism or a microaggression, and what impact does it have on the person on the receiving end of it?
That’s what we’re exploring at our panel discussion on 21 October.
Join us at 5pm in Centre Stage before our usual Thirsty Thursdays drinks.
We’ll hear from:
- Plexal member Mete Coban: Labour councillor in the London borough of Hackney, cabinet member for Energy, Waste, Transport and Public Realm at Hackney Council and the CEO of youth-led, non-partisan charity My Life My Say
- Plexal member Nana Badu: founder of BADU: an organisation that empowers young people through sports activities, mentoring and a range of programmes
- Orlene Badu: founder of Orlene Badu Consulting, which delivers mentoring and training in leadership, unconscious bias and many more
Orlene will also be delivering unconscious bias and anti-racism training for all Plexal members. We’ll share details at the end of the event about what that will involve and how to sign up.
Come support your fellow members on the panel and join an important conversation.
