Assistive technology is not a niche market but industry is failing to create affordable solutions at scale – or tap into the innovation opportunity. We want to do something about that.
We’re asking the UK’s 13.9 million disabled people to tell us about their accessibility challenges, and what products or services would make the biggest impact on their lives.
We’ve launched an online survey today and will consult with our community to gather the insights we need for stage two, when we’ll work with both industry and people with disabilities to define challenge areas and identify windows of opportunity.
We know from countless examples, from the potato peeler to the mobile phone, that when you design for disability you end up with better products and services for everyone. By co-creating solutions with people who are living with a disability, industry can unlock revenue streams and innovate in new ways – while making life more accessible for everyone.
Please do get involved by taking our survey by 23 March, or get in touch with our inclusion team if you’re interested in learning more about our research and exploring opportunities together.
