In recognition of the quite valid reservations that have been expressed about FIFA’s choice of Qatar to host the Football World Cup, we’re organising a Queer East panel discussion on the issue of sportswashing for Plexal members and the Here East community.
The panel will dive into what sportswashing is, how it causes damage, why it works and how we can all appreciate the World Cup while acknowledging its negative associations – not only in the context of Qatar, but much closer to home as well.
