We’re growing quickly and are looking for a talented and ambitious technology consultant to join us.

THE ROLE

The technology consultant will work collaboratively with the Innovation Services team in coordinating, delivering and facilitating our programme activities. You’ll be researching and engaging with a diverse array of stakeholders as part of this role, including startups, corporations, government, non-profit organisations and universities.

The role is busy, fast-paced, interesting and challenging. Projects are likely to be intensive, complex, and will require a highly organised approach to manage the multiple tasks and stakeholders simultaneously.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Translate the business drivers and technical requirements into enterprise solution/s reducing costs while providing the strategy and template for future customers
  • Drive the technology strategy and translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Perform research and develop potential options and costed plans for new technical solutions and applications, such as the next generation Security components and mobile software applications
  • Provide the footprint for the secure digital future of clients and customers
  • Review and contribute to specification development
  • Technical representation for collaborative working groups
  • Develop logical and physical architectures for target solution implementations
  • Determine key technical characteristics for solutions and prepare options for scoping and procuring of required solutions
  • Respond to technical requests for enhancements to existing systems and prepare initial project proposals
  • Undertake feasibility studies by understanding the business needs, identifying the most appropriate product or technical options to meet this need, and ensuring that the implementation of the chosen solution is feasible in terms of resources, time scales and funding
  • Carry out a detailed scoping and sizing exercise, either of a specific project, post-feasibility, or of part of the organisation’s technology and business strategies to set the scope and boundaries of the future project and define detailed terms of reference

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least eight years’ experience working within cybersecurity and /or telecoms background
  • Ideally architected for one of the Big 4 or a similar leading consultancy
  • Experience of automated test frameworks and their implementation
  • Experience of automated and manual technical testing
  • Knowledge and experience of formal software development and system design methods
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Flexible and proactive approach
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team including line management skills
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, persuade and gain trust through credibility, integrity and professionalism
  • Ability to maintain and develop effective working relationships with a wide range of people both internal and external to the company
  • An understanding of project work, software development methodologies and systems testing techniques
  • An awareness of a range of technologies and their practical applications in supporting business requirements
