Content manager (6-month fixed-term contract)


Plexal is east London’s innovation centre and coworking space for tech entrepreneurs, and our content manager is a crucial part of everything we do. They’re the person who brings our members together, helps them make the right connections, tells their stories to the world and executes our epic events programme.

You’ll be a member of our marketing team and work closely with our wider community team as well as be tuned into the work our innovation leads are doing in cybersecurity, mobility and social inclusion.

We’re looking for a proactive, creative go-getter who enjoys writing, is able to work in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple content channels and is passionate about innovation, technology and bringing people together.

The role has these key focus areas:

  1. Marketing and communications

With so much happening at Plexal, you’ll be the person who makes sure our members know what’s on.

You’ll have previous writing experience and be able to write emails, website copy, event listings, copy for flyers and more in our tone of voice.

You’ll also be our reporter on the ground, capturing member stories and taking photos for social media, or even writing longer profiles of members for our website.

You should be able to publish content across multiple platforms (digital signage, websites, print collateral and more) and ensure all content is fresh and up-to-date.

  1. Events planning and execution

Our content manager will work with our community team to execute an exciting events programme (virtual and offline) for our members.

You’ll be able to come up with event topics for our meetups, source speakers and host events like our women in business meetup, founders meetup and more.



  • Excellent writing skills (with previous writing experience) – must have the ability to create newsletters/events listings etc.
  • Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines
  • Content management experience with social media, Mailchimp, WordPress
  • Previous marketing or events experience is desirable but not necessary



  • Writing and sending the weekly members’ newsletter
  • Maintaining the intranet for members
  • Writing news stories about member news
  • Posting events listings
  • Managing multiple platforms, both online and offline, and maintaining the content calendar
  • Sourcing topics and speakers for member meetups
  • Writing blogs summarising our events
  • Updating the website on an ad-hoc basis
  • Drafting social media post copy and capturing content from events (images and Stories for Instagram)
  • Capturing member feedback on events and content
  • Measuring the effectiveness of content and events and suggesting improvements
  • Work with the wider community team to attend and occasionally host/organise member networking events both online and in person
